I’m a Product Design and UX leader who sits at the intersection of business strategy and agile delivery. I use my expert design thinking skills to lead cross-functional stakeholders through the many twists and turns of product discovery and strategic planning. This includes gathering, synthesising and evaluating information, driving collaboration with end users, facilitating workshops to build engagement and alignment and managing project tasks and timelines.For me, design thinking is a fluid, non-linear approach, rather than a perfectly formed double diamond. I relish gnarly problem spaces that feed my love of strategic thinking and systems thinking. Examples include de-risking innovation, facilitating strategic choices and optimising ways of working. In all cases, I leverage my design tools to achieve the desired outcome.My approach to developing design strategy is lean, so I favour interactions and iterative design over upfront planning and weighty documentation. My goal is to drive coherence, cohesion and continuous improvement. When communicating a strategy, I always ensure that the strategic intent and surrounding context are 100% clear. A good design strategy should inspire teams to deliver impactful solutions through experimentation.My extensive background in interaction design, information architecture and user research gives me the perfect platform to brief, coach and lead high performing design teams - ensuring the development and correct implementation of strategic insights.Above all, I see myself as someone who works in a people industry rather than a technological one. Successful products are built on empathy, for both users and colleagues. This is why I thrive in environments where collaboration and learning from others is baked into the culture.
