As Continuous Improvement Manager I was responsible for delivering business improvements through the implementation of lean manufacturing principles across the Ilford site. • I was responsible for the management of the business improvement system to monitor performance and to identify and validate improvement opportunities.• Utilising my facilitation skills and knowledge of practical tools I led cross-functional teams in problem solving and improvement workshops, in order to resolve quality and safety issues and deliver efficiency improvements. To strengthen the sites capabilities I also delivered training and coaching of employees in these skills.• I was responsible for the deployment of the Q6 initiative to implement quality fundamentals across the Ilford site, including the introduction of quality gates, feedback loops, standard instructions and a standardised meeting structure. This has resulted in me becoming a Q6 Expert for the Western Europe region.

As a Project Manager I was responsible for the profitable delivery of control systems to meet customer requirements. • I managed the contractual and commercial aspects of projects worth in excess of £1M, taking full financial responsibility and implementing preventative or remedial action to ensure an on-budget delivery. On a £850k project I was able to increase operating profit from 15% to over 25% whilst ensuring on-time delivery was achieved through considered risk management.• I was responsible for overseeing the entire life of a project through design, procurement, manufacturing to commissioning. I ensured technical specifications were adhered to and supported this through the development and execution of quality plans and test procedures. • As the primary customer contact, I liaised directly with customers through both structured and informal communication to develop and strengthen relationships. This led to being given the responsibility of a key customer account to help to secure further business. • Identification of continuous improvement opportunities throughout the project closure process.

Due to the success of my role in the UK ERP project I was asked to take a leading role in the implementation of a new group-wide ERP system at the corporate headquarters. • As the only dedicated employee on the project I oversaw major stages of the Epicor 9 implementation from contract signing through to project closure ensuring a smooth transition from the existing AS400 system.• I led workshops to facilitate the creation of current state process maps to identify process re-engineering requirements and plan the configuration of the software. • I was responsible for managing all software customisation and modifications. This included their identification through gap analysis, validation of the business cases and overall prioritisation. This resulted in working directly with Epicor programmers to develop bespoke features that have since included with in the core product.• I coordinated the construction of the database ensuring the data was exported & collated, manipulated and then validated prior to importing.• I was responsible for the customisation of all external forms and development of new of crystal reports as well as the creation of queries within Epicor and from Excel.• I planned scripts and procedures for conference room piloting and user acceptance testing and assisted the finance department to ensure ledger postings were correct and gained practical accounting knowledge as a result.• I managed the training and preparation of end user procedures across all departments to ensured they were fully prepared to transit to the new system.• Following Go-Live I was the first line support for users responsible for fast resolution and escalation as required.

As an Improvement Engineer I was responsible for the development and execution of improvement projects across the UK facility with focus on maximising the benefit of the new Enterprise Resource Planning software. • I was a key member of the team that implemented the new ERP software, and was personally responsible for the execution within the procurement and engineering departments. Through process mapping, the creation of instruction manuals, creating reports and the delivery of training, I ensured a successful and smooth transition to the new system giving the procurement team faster access to data, an improvement in material demand visibility and introduced the capability for managing supplier performance.• Due to my successful involvement in the implementation of the ERP system, I was asked to develop its use for material planning and resource scheduling for the production team. I introduced the capability to the production department to accurately forecast capacity requirements, generate prioritised work-to list for shop floor teams, and track the progression of a customer order for the first time. This contributed to a reduction in overdue orders from £1.2M to less than £200k and an increase in on-time delivery from 30% to over 80% over a 14-month period. • I took over an existing project to introduce a web-based ordering system for inter-company business. By re-aligning the systems’ design with the user requirements, I ensured the system was adopted by all major sister companies. This led to a reduction in time to quote and significantly reduced email communication between sites.
