Fortescue - Principal Electric Mining Proceses
CurrentPrincipal - Electrical Mining Processes at Fortescue, based out of Brisbane. I work between Operational Planning and Decarbonisation departments. I am responsible for the planning, resourcing, and execution of electric mining equipment for Fortescue’s mining operations. This includes the electrification of excavator, drill fleets and the implementation of battery electrichaul trucks. We cover the 10YP plan right down to the Daily planning horizon. My team are responsible for working with site mine planning teams to train and mentor schedule and design pits to support electric machines. We review and ensure pit designs in the 2YR and week plus one space, to support electric miningequipment enabling safe productive dig methods. We also review electrical infrastructure in relation to substation and battery electric charging station locations to mitigate their impact on the miningprocess. I have also developed a dig method to double bench an electric backhoe excavator safely and productively. I have been involved in a review of the SHMS to facilitate the implementation of cabled equipment and have reviewed the Fortescue TUM to include electric HME. I have also been instrumental in designing bespoke cable handling equipment.
