We also review electrical infrastructure in relation to substation and battery electric charging station locations to mitigate their impact on the miningprocess. I have also developed a dig method to double bench an electric backhoe excavator safely and productively. Mining Manager

Australia

Mining Manager for BUMA at Meandu Mine. I commenced the role in January 2023. In my time at Meandu, my achievements include: Improved dragline productivity through modifying dig sequences, mentoring mine planning and operational teams in dragline proficiency methods. I developed a business case to have a Digital Terrain Mapping scanner approved in the budget to be fitted to the dragline. This tool will be used to improve compliance to plan. I implemented AMAs to control interactions at dig faces and dumps; previous to my starting at Meandu they had 2 serious HPI’s involving trucks and dozers making contact.I reviewed, audited and implemented controls at all haul road intersections to ensure safer intersections, emphasising consistent truck cycles, not speed. This also led to improved truck availability. As part of this, I engaged a cross section of the work force to review the Mine Traffic Rules SOP, to speed limit all haulroad intersections to 20km per/hour by geo fencing and the use of signage. I also implemented a paint bomb program to limit sidewall cuts in tyres, as 55% of tyre damage was caused by sidewall cuts. I revamped the format of the Daily Production meeting using Lean principles. I was heavily involved in reviewing the TUM and standardised reporting processes and implemented KPI’s and processes to improve safety and productivity in the Mine Control roles. I drove accountability across my frontline leadership team to manage their people and practice visible leadership in the pit while conducting field leadership - while mentoring and educating their respective teams to do the job safely. I was very proud that during my time at Meandu, field leadership numbers trended upwards and no HPIs were recorded while I was Mining Manager.

Dragline Superintendent

Bhp

Blackwater, Queensland, Australia

Dragline Superintendent at BMA Blackwater managing 7 draglines and responsible for the budgeted movement of 96 million BCMs. As part of my role, I was tasked with the rollout of the BHP Business Operating System (BOS) within the Dragline department. My direct reports included 2 draglinecoordinators, 8 dragline supervisors, 2 diversity development supervisors and approximately 100 department personnel. I was also responsible for all cable management on site for 7 draglines and 2 electric face shovels. In my time at Blackwater, I am proud to have led the only dragline department across BMA’s operations to achieve budgeted prime movement and rehandle in FY22. This achievement was underpinned by a great team of leaders and a strong safety performance. I collaborated with Mine Planning and Scheduling to re-path the dragline fleet to maximise their productivity, allowing Blackwater to limit the length and number of dragline relocations. I also worked with and mentored dragline planning engineers which led to resetting dragline dig sequences. I also engaged my shift supervisors and dragline operations personnel in the planning process, which resulted in improved communications between operations and planning.
