Lean process improvements and product support.

Responsible for taking the vision of the future state Value Stream Maps and tuning them into a reality. I was a key part of the site's Lean transformation journey, which involved:- Lean Manufacturing Methodology - Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Process Mapping- Cell Design, Layout & Implementation- Single Piece Flow & Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)- 5S - Work Place Organization- Responsible for the site Practical Process Improvement (PPI) - Qualified as a Process Manger & Master Trainer for Continuous Improvement program - Setting up of Purchase & Manufactured Parts Markets (PPM & MPM’s)- Setting up manual and bar-coded Kanban systems

Senior Mechanical Technician responsible for Prototype, one-offs and small batch runs for the MOD and other defence industries worldwide in land, sea and aerospace products.

2006 to 2011 Promoted to Manufacturing Engineer, taking a-hands on approach being involved in Business Process Improvement (BPI). Lean Transformation of the site assembly cells learning a number of tools to assist in these projects. Heavily involved in Kaizen (Continuous improvement program) this involved assisting, training and mentoring others in the 12 step / 4 stages of problem solving.2003 – 2006 Seconded to Manufacturing Architecture Project where the team implemented:- Process improvements in the EXT Assembly Cell, reduced the lead-time by 20%- Implementing First in First Out (FIFO) process- Meeting Targets - Key Performance Indicator (KPI)1999 - 2003 Originally employed as a Fitter assembling and testing Seiko Turbo-molecular pumps, working to high tolerances within a Cleanroom. Taking on extra responsibilities:- Team Leader (responsible for 6 Staff)- Materials control / setting up stores area- Kanban loops – setting up and maintaining internal loops- Training of team members

Assembly of robotic hospital instrumentation: - Working to technical drawings. Mechanical and Electro mechanical assemblies- Wiring & Soldering.
