In the beginning of my career, I was amazed that Ink and water do not mix and that paper starts off as essentially sludge. As I began my career, I embraced the fact that print was a powerful visual method. I enjoyed the nuances of working with clients to select the paper, inks, coatings and finishing techniques that made their product stand out.Fast forward a few decades, and I have learned that print has evolved. Print is part of a greater marketing effort and plays a very specific role in the omnichannel universe. This universe is used to acquire, retain and engage customers. In today's environment, I work with clients to ensure they have access to the best data and analytics to engage their customers that will drive growth, retention and a greater ROI. I still love a conversation about paper, inks, coatings and finishing techniques, but like to talk about increasing response rates by 1x, 2x and even 3 times. Yes, that is correct.
