On December 1, 2015; I formed Medical Coding Solutions (MCS) with two great partners. MCS is a coding company providing on-shore and off-shore coding solutions for Emergency Medicine. My major motivation for starting MCS is that I believe that as Alternative Payment Models become a reality coding will involve more clinical data and ultimately replace the need for claims filing. I was formerly with Emergency Groups’ Office (EGO) in Arcadia, CA. I was engaged by EGO to implement a remote coding application. During my five year tenure with EGO I directed several automation projects, served as the Interim Director of Accounts Receivable and the Interim Director of Reimbursement Coding, managing up to one hundred employees. My thirty years experience qualifies me to provide administrative and management assistance wherever it may be needed in a Physician Billing organization. My familiarity with the Medicare Carriers Manual and other third party coding and billing guidelines forms the underpinning in my role of compliance officer and practice management consultant. I have specialized in receivables management for hospital based physicians. I have been the director of a physician billing service owned by an emergency department physician staffing company in Florida. After ten years in medical billing I was engaged as the business manager of a small full risk Health Maintenance Organization. I negotiated provider contracts, analyzed reimbursement and claims adjudication processes, and developed manual and automated systems to measure utilization.
