Building bespoke waste vacuum tankers. Working in a small team using schematic drawings and a build plan, I am responsible for planning out the different systems, including vacuum, hydraulic and high pressure jetting circuits and building tankers from the chassis to a working product (before paint) . The fabrication work is very extensive as it involves using various steel formings as well as pipe welding with mixture of bench work and positional welding. With full use of guillotine, folders, bandsaws, punch and other machinery. Working with mainly mild and stainless steel (stainless grades 304 & 316, as well as welding mixed metal 309) MIG welding there is also some occasional aluminium TIG welding as well as plasma cutting. The fitting duties include laying out hydraulic valves and components from the schematic drawings prepared for the rebuild team to plumb in. This includes ensuring all components have the correct fittings using BSP and L series fittings.

Duties included assembling and welding skip various components for Dumper Trucks, this included major components such as Chassis, Skips, and undercarriages as well as various other components like fuel tanks and engine covers. My main role was building and welding the larger skips to a specified drawing. The welding was mostly mild steel using both MIG and pulse MIG. Occasionally welding Hardox steel. I was also part of a small select team for reworking components and building/welding prototype components for future developments.
