Led the sourcing, evaluation, execution and monitoring of private equity and distressed credit investments for JLL Partners, a 20+ year old private equity firm with approximately $4.0 billion of capital under management. Led the development of investment strategies targeting business services and consumer products industry verticals with the support of operating executives and junior investment professionals. Identified and outlined investment themes and cultivate on theme sources of deal flow through relationships with industry focused investment bankers, senior executives and other advisors. Separately, led the execution of an opportunistic strategy to capitalize on credit market dislocation in 2008 and 2009 by investing in distressed senior secured loans and high yield bonds. Developed infrastructure to trade loans with various dealers in partnership with leading credit hedge fund. Established internal credit screening and review process, lead investment committee decisions on specific investment opportunities and directed the monitoring of a portfolio of senior leveraged loans and junior securities. Portfolio generated 1.4x MOIC and 101% IRR.

Led the sourcing, evaluation, execution and monitoring of private equity investments for DLJ Merchant Banking Partners, an affiliated private equity firm with approximately $10.0 billion of capital under management. Maintained primary industry focus on business services companies and retail/consumer products companies. Managed entire private equity investment process, including: (i) leading detailed due diligence on business, financial, industry, competitive, legal, accounting and other issues, (ii) negotiating transaction terms with advisors, sellers, co-investors, management teams and other relevant parties, (iii) negotiating transaction terms with debt financing sources. Post acquisition portfolio responsibilities included strategy formation, establishment of financial and operational performance objectives and ongoing company monitoring.Former board member of Total Safety, Inc., Luxury Optical Holdings, De Crane Aircraft and Merrill Communications.
