My role involves overseeing the suite of healthcare products that we provide. Specifically, guiding the development of new technology to solve problems in the healthcare arena.Recently, we have developed a Track and Trace system for use in the hospitality area, and started investigating how best to use machine learning to extract information from our large data pool.

Lead the design and implementation of a range of software products related to radiation oncology.The main tools used were XCode for the development of our mobile range of medical note generation products and Visual Studio for the implementation of our interfacing software. SOAP and RESTful services were developed to allow our products to communication, while a HL7 interface is used for the external interfaces.

Aided in the implementation of a PHP based medical oncology note generating application and its associated Android application. Led the research and development into an iPad specific version of the whole system.

Main responsibility is the maintenance and security of the group's computer systems (including web/SVN/wiki server, 100 node computing cluster and several RAIDs). To this end, I've installed UPS units, rolled out a bespoke firewall and implemented a backup procedure to protect the data.Further, I created a website for a conference held by the department for over 300 scientists. Most of the information on the site is dynamically generated using PHP code from data held in a MySQL database.
