Assessing children at starting level...(we worked with typically lower performing students.Developing a program that individually helped the child to get to the next level.Continually re-assess and continually working with the children's' abilities to learn letters, their phonic sounds, learn sight words & eventually read (always asking comprehensive open-ended questions). If children were at a higher level, choose books that would continue to challenge them while keeping them engaged. We also had writing as a part of each tutoring session..

Did two consecutive experiences including my student teaching with 2nd graders. I was given a great opportunity from my mentor teacher to try and do anything with the curriculum standards...I learned a lot through trial and error, but was able to bond with the children quickly to get them to do more than I had thought possible. Implemented a computer based math (XtraMath.com) that the principal allowed me to set up for the entire school 1st-6th. Wonderful school....

Reading program with 8 children in 3rd & 4th grade....worked with children..Assessing reading level...developing program with books, words games, writing & continually re-assessing to promote as much learning as possible during the summer...Developed a packet to go home for parent involvement encouraging partnership beliefs.

My experience was in a 4th-5th grade gifted students in a inclusive curriculum. Quite challenging, but it was a wonderful experience allowing for so much differentiation with the class...including reading groups, math groups etc....at different levels <3
