I've spent the majority of my life building and taking apart anything I could get my hands on. I am passionate about learning and figuring out how things work - and how they can be better. This natural curiosity has helped facilitate the strong Application, Mobile, and Web Development skills that I use everyday. Primarily focusing on enterprise development, I've lead the development and architecture of several enterprise applications. One of my first accomplishments was to develop an internal chat support solution - allowing employees to access technical support. The project encompassed creation of the front-end client, back end communication server, database logging, and metrics. At its retirement, it had logged over 1.2 million support cases.This original project lead into several speaking engagements at conferences and internal seminars - something that I was honestly terrified of doing at first, but has since become one of my favourite things.I've spent the past several years expanding on this knowledge and following trends in technology. Primarily, staying on top of Mobile Development practices, understanding the practical implementations and limitations of Native vs HTML vs Hybrid Apps. The spread of the 'Internet of Things' has also opened up a whole new world - which I'm spending the majority of my time in at the moment. I've recently been involved in the creation of a 'Smart Billboard' experience that changes to present different information based on the people who are nearby. Naturally, this leads into understanding how all these (apps, web, physical, mobile, IoT) ecosystems coexist and work together to deliver seamless personalized experiences. Which leads me to where I am today.I may not have all the answers, but after successfully playing the entire gambit of roles on projects over the last several years, I definitely can figure it out.
