(Director, 2005-2015; Senior Director, 2015-2018; Managing Director, 2018-2020; Vice President, 2020-2022)In partnership with UNICEF, developed and implemented UNICEF USA’s (UUSA) advocacy vision and strategy in support of UNICEF's global advocacy priorities, including the U.S. Government’s annual contribution to UNICEF’s core resources. The Policy and Advocacy team developed bipartisan legislative initiatives, policy statements and advocacy campaigns to promote policy outcomes that benefit children and families, and partnered with internal stakeholders to mobilize UNICEF supporters to take action by contacting legislators and government officials on relevant policy and funding issues. The Policy and Advocacy team highlighted UNICEF's expertise, reach and effectiveness with Congressional and NGO audiences, and partnered with key NGO networks and coalitions to promote common advocacy priorities.Impacts of our advocacy team's work include:- Maintained and increased the U.S. Government contribution to UNICEF, generating more than $2 billion in critical core resources for UNICEF.- As a key member of the Thrive Coalition, helped pass the Global Child Thrive Act to improve early childhood development in U.S. foreign assistance programs.- Helped launch and served as co-chair of the InterAction Children and Youth Working Group, with goal to prioritize children and youth across U.S. international development and humanitarian assistance.- Partner in coalition to end child marriage without exceptions in the United States, playing an important role in convincing state legislatures in seven states to pass bills ending child marriage (DE, NJ, MN, NY, RI, PA, MA).- Led our team's strategy and implementation of Advocacy Days on Capitol Hill, bringing constituents from across the country to talk about UNICEF and share policy requests with Congressional offices. In 2019, more than 400 volunteers participated in meetings with 250 Congressional offices.
