Innovation

Responsible for the strategy, definition of scope, objectives, implementation, and support of Retail Technology solutions at Co-op Grocery, Liquor, C-Store, and TGP locations. Provide recommendations and implementations of technology solutions for retails. Responsible for services provided in house, as well as the management of Vendors. Responsible for establishing strong and effective service delivery with clear direction for the function. Responsible for overseeing and managing the installation, maintenance, and support of computer hardware, software, infrastructure, and networks for Co-op Grocery, Liquor, C-Store, and TGP retail operations. Oversee and plan for service delivery to retails for point-of-sale systems and related IT services. Provides training, consultation, and conclusive recommendations for future planning and development of resources and solutions.Manage all administrative functions relating to the operation of the business unit including budget preparation and variance reporting, billing, inventory control. Control expenditures and recovery within the approved budget.

Tgp Division

Oversee a team that organizes, coordinates and directs the installation, training, and support of Point-of-Sale systems and IT-delivered services (including item downloads) for approximately 100 independent retailers. Includes ensuring optimization of transfer of data from mainframe to TGP and from TGP to retails.Gather and assess feedback from stakeholders including retailers, IT department staff and other TGP staff and evaluate the operation of the POS system and IT-delivered services and how they meet the needs of the independent retailers (present and future). Conduct or direct research and determine recommended solutions and enhancements. Oversee the development of plans for and implementation of solutions and enhancements.Manage and oversee maintenance of the technical infrastructure at TGP locations including local and wide area networks, SAN, servers, firewalls, access points, switches, desktops and notebooks, and related installation, configuration and support, backup and redundancies. Ensure uptime and access to all systems and transfer of data. Direct troubleshooting and make recommendations for maintaining and future planning and development of IT resources in alignment with organization-wide strategic direction.Oversee the execution of software provisioning and operation, including email system, and hardware sourcing and purchasing from various sources including outside software vendors, FCL and internal programming within approved budget parameters and according to strategic direction. Manage all administrative functions relating to the operation of the business unit including budget preparation and variance reporting, billing, inventory control. Control expenditures and recovery within the approved budget.

Tgp Edmonton Division

Managed the operations and staff assigned to the information technology support division to assure all TGP independent retail customer systems were operational and retail staff was receiving the support and assistance needed to ensure effective use of information system(s). Conducted needs assessments and developed plans to meet the information and technology needs for TGP. Provided technical advice and recommendations in the development of policies, procedures, and long-range strategic plans for the information technology department. Installed and maintained corporate computer hardware, software and networks.
