My focus is on people and dealing with the many complexities (both good and challenging) that people management can bring. This applies to the varied work I have done in the space of rehabilitation, correctional centre management, and prisoner reintegration; but it’s also very much about leadership and understanding the layers of people management that is required for strong organisational cultures that best support desistance and ultimately community safety.I’m passionate about improving the way we do business to better reflect the unique needs of prisoners and offenders including improvements to our response to key issues such as domestic and family violence and the far-reaching impact it has on society. I’m a strong communicator and am recognised for my ability to navigate complex stakeholder relations with balance and level headedness.I’m interested in human rights and ensuring dignity for all individuals and understand where this can present with challenges in the face of on-going harm to others within the institutional setting. I don’t see parameters in terms of where my career will take me, but can say with confidence, what drives me is a commitment to integrity and courage, and opportunities that serve the community and contribute to the better good of society.
