Provide quote proposal management for budgetary, design build and hard bid project requests on highly engineered commercial building façade products. Territory coverage of approx. 26 states along with outside territories such as Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam and the US Virgin Islands. This role included supervising approx. 5 associates titled Engineered Sales Estimators. Projects would have a pre-bid meeting to determine structural engineering, submission engineering, production engineering, existing or newly designed product to meet specification criteria and performance requirements stated by project Architect. Proposals would be reviewed prior to submitting for scope coverage depth, strategic financial reasons, shop capacity, engineering and production hours required. As the Regional Estimating Manager, I reported to the VP of Engineered Sales. I also worked directly with another Regional Estimating Manager, Architectural & Sales Representatives along with 3 Market Managers covering targets markets of Military, Education and Healthcare. Tasks included initial review of potential projects for bid, scheduling teams for engineering pre-bid and design meetings, off-site training seminars, construction site visits, facilitating solid customer relationships, meeting bid margins, meeting company strategies, hitting targeted financial budgets, delegating work load to meet bid volume and provide the associate performance feedback through scheduled reviews and discipline if determined to be necessary.

Engineered Sales Estimator
My role involved full review of Architectural prints and project specifications to determine the needs of the building as envisioned by the Architects design. I would meet with our in-house engineering team assigned to the project. We would discuss the drawings, best product applicable to meet design and confirm what I needed for support. I would generate my take-off for bid purposes including all aluminum framing, glazing infill types, trim accessories, installation aids such as anchors or a starter system. The engineering team would determine how many structural, submission and production engineering hours would be needed in order to meet design from the preliminary drawings to final installed product. Once my proposal was created, it would be reviewed for complete scope coverage, wording of inclusions or exclusions, profit margin and sign-off by the Regional Estimating Manager, VP of Engineering, VP of Manufacturing and President depending on level of ROS and total amount of the bid. Tiers would determine the level of sign-off. If the Project was approved per my proposal, it was handed off to the Project Manager of the assigned Engineering team to continue until the job was completed.
Product And Pricing Specialist /Project Manager
My role involved reviewing customer supplied Commercial window & door takeoffs along with project specifications out for bid. I generated Quote Proposals for Glass & Glazing Installers so they could submit them to the General Contractor for awarded of contract. If successful, the approved order would go through material procurement and production scheduling. I would assist with any submittal items requested by the Architect or Owner and supply product details, product information, air and water test performance reports, warranty documentation and drawing support as needed. Project management involved making sure the product materials (extrusions) were received correctly and on time for production needs, visit the production floor for any issues and track project until the installation is complete.
1St Shift Lead/Supervisor For Window & Door Sash Line
My role included supervising between 8 – 10 production associates for all Rolling and Hung window / door products the company offered at the time. I was required to monitor production numbers, review tooling requirements, set up an automated glazing machine, product quality assurance at all work stations, administer WIP (work in process) flow, follow lean manufacturing fundamentals, participate in Kaizen blitzes, review shop production drawings, insure consumables at full at work stations, Kanban ideals practiced, handle rework issues as needed, report back any material tolerance issues so it can be addressed and corrected immediately and effectively communicate and coordinate shift change items.

My role as manufacturing associate included working in the wet & dry glazing departments. They would wet/dry glazed operable window sash and wet/dry glazed patio door sash. Infills of glass, lexan or composite sandwich panels would be set in fixed or operable frames or sash. Glazing beads would be installed and any decorative trim such as tape applied muntins. A silicone wet seal was applied to the exterior perimeter where the infill and glazing rabbet met. The gap where the silicone adhered to was separated by butyl, tape, gasket or rubber wedge. I also work in material handling, machining, fabrication, glass line production, assembling sales samples and shipping departments. I wanted to learn as many shop areas as possible to strengthen my skill set for further advancement within company.
