He was the 46th Commissioner of Internal Revenue, serving from 2003 through 2007. From 2001 through 2003 he held senior positions at the Office of Management & Budget. As Deputy Director for Management Everson was a member of the White House team which analyzed government operations after 9/11 and developed the president's proposal to create the Department of Homeland Security. As Deputy Commissioner of the INS in the Reagan Administration Everson supervised all agency operations. At the state level he was a member of the cabinet of Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels, directing the state's workforce and unemployment systems.Everson's private sector experience includes both line and staff positions in the US and overseas. He has lived and worked in France, Turkey and Zambia. He was Group Vice President-Finance of the leading global airline catering firm (LSG/SkyChefs) and Senior Vice President-Control of Pechiney, one of France's largest industrial groups. He is a past President & CEO of the American Red Cross.
