Manage multiple simultaneous endangered species monitoring and other research projects, including Coastal Waterbird Monitoring, Bird Banding, Horseshoe Crab research, Oyster Reef Restoration, Diamondback Terrapin Research, and habitat restoration of the sanctuary heathlands and grasslands. Also write and manage grants, hire and train seasonal research staff, provide public education programs, train and supervise many volunteers, lead international birding tours.

Managed multiple bird research and vegetation survey projects in Everglades National Park, Big Cypress National Preserve, Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge, and various municipal parks around South Florida. Work included study of effects of fire on pine rockland bird communities and monitoring of reintroduced brown-headed Nuthatch, Eastern Bluebird, and Wild Turkey populations in the Everglades.Also conducted baseline bird surveys of a watershed in Willapa Hills of Southwest Washington under contract with the Nature Conservancy, and analyzed bird survey data for Klamath Bird Observatory using program DISTANCE.

Part of an international team to count almost 5 million raptors migrating through the coastal plain of Veracruz, Mexico, the world's largest hawk migration. In addition to data collection, provided interp to visiting groups and locals.
