Responsibilities : To review and develop systems in line with company objectivesAchievementsIntegrated Tharstern MIS with Esko Automation Engine.Jobs are created on Tharsterns MIS by dropping a csv file into Esko Shuttle which places the file into the relevant job on Esko Automation Engine, the workflow then processes the csv file utilising API calls.The end result is a fully detailed estimate, sales order and job created on the MIS every 6 seconds from each line of the original csv dropped into Esko. This was a first for Esko and Tharstern.The Pre Press workflows are driven via a mixture of XML/Json and API calls, with milestone updates at key process points.Replaced the existing Dalim Twist and WebNative pre press systems with Esko Automation Engine and WebCenter plus 5 seats of Artios CAD which was cost neutral over 4 years and then a 57% reduction in support costs from year 5. The installation allowed a seamless workflow from client approval to print. Developed automated XML driven production workflows that plan/process jobs and deliver an XML back to the MIS which populates the job with the relevant information, greatly reducing errors, improving efficiency and taking cost out of the process..80% of jobs are now processed using these workflows.Introduced a Colour Server into the PreFlight workflow to normalise all incoming files to an industry standard colour space using device link profiles. Resulting in less down time/quicker make readies on the press and a reduction in colour issues.Researched and recommended an XML driven Web 2 Print software which was installed and is used daily by major clients. All orders are processed directly to print via Automation Engine.

Responsibilities : Ensure that offset and web offset print production meets the ISO 12647-2 print standard on all group sites, develop and implement automated pre-press and colour systems and client education/training. Working with repro suppliers to ensure best practice for chosen print process and press passing clients work.Achievements : Researched, developed and implemented an extended colour gamut production print process (6 and 7 colour) using FM screening for litho, matching paint chips for a UK manufacturer utilising icc device link profiling.Successfully introduced a digital proofing workflow for extended colour gamut files.

This accelerated the creative and production workflow in a very time sensitive and competitive market contributing to the success of the organisation. Developed with a European manufacturer and implemented the UK's first ISO 12647-2 multi-substrate screenprint UV ink system which dramatically improved make ready times and decreased downtime on the screen presses while providing an annual ink cost saving of 26%
