Mark joined Wirth Research from the corporate finance team at Grant Thornton, where he successfully led a number of transactions (both buy-side and sell-side) across a variety of wide-ranging sectors, including business services, market research and facilities outsourcing. An Imperial College physics graduate and former Investment Analyst at Willis Towers Watson, Mark is responsible for all financial aspects of the business, as well as day-to-day management and commercial & strategic leadership. At Wirth, we offer a portfolio of patented, award-winning sustainability products and services to help you meet your net zero goals, including:AIRDOORAirDoor uses an active, targeted airflow to improve interior comfort and the building’s energy efficiency (up to 31% reduction in annual gas use for a mid-sized supermarket, up to 54% reduction in peak electricity use for a boutique retail store). Situated directly inside the entrance, it generates a plume of air to reduce weather-related infiltration, such as wind (temperature & humidity disruption) and wind-driven rain (slippery floors). This enables better utilisation of the front-of-store area and helps food display equipment run more efficiently.ECOBLADEConventional wisdom will have us believe the only way to reduce the energy consumption of refrigerated display cabinets is to fit doors to them. This ignores the resources used up in manufacture, the cleaning and maintenance, and that doors only save energy when closed. By contrast, EcoBlade is a simple, retrofit device that attaches to the end of a cabinet shelf and delivers up to a 25% reduction (42% for a cabinet optimised to Wirth NGR spec) in energy use. By minimising cold air spill, EcoBlade lowers produce temperature leading to significant reductions in food waste, and improves store comfort for staff and customers.WIND ENGINEERING IN THE BUILT ENVIRONMENTAs industry leaders in wind engineering and analysis, we provide our clients with high quality and proven results, delivered quickly and reliably. We solve issues as they arise without compromising integrity or architectural vision. Our accurate and cost-effective services make every project a success, from initial compliance to optimised environmental performance. We’d love to hear about your energy consumption issues, particularly those linked to air or thermal inefficiencies, where our world-leading knowledge and application of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) allows us to see what others can’t.
