Family Case Manager
Responsibilities included managing multiple cases and families. Coordinating resources and collaborating with service providers, courts, the community, schools, and assessment centers to protect children who are victims of abuse or neglect, and strengthening families through services that focus on family support and preservation. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to maintain confidentiality regarding clients. Ability to demonstrate empathy and the ability to be objective and unbiased in decision making skills, assessing and recognizing family strengths while using critical thinking skills to solve complex problems. Detailed and timely documentation of all client contacts and required reports. Preparation of pre-dispositional, dispositional, progress, and permanency reports to the courts as well as maintaining case files and developing briefing reports. Development of case plans collaboratively with families to assist them in reunifying with their family and becoming more self-sufficient. Counseling families regarding the social needs and skills of families and children through monthly team meetings. Assessing safety and level of risk to the child for additional injury or harm, including whether the child is in imminent danger which may result in removal of the child from their placement as the situation warrants. Participation in Community Outreach programs to assist at-risk families and children in order to obtain services and knowledge that they need.
