I am a UEFA-licenced futsal coach who is fascinated by the challenge of how to best convey and exchange ideas within diverse groups using whichever combination of communication methods, technologies and learning techniques work best for individuals. I like to harness technology to be engaging but in a way which remembers to be creative in accommodating everyone's differing learning styles.A huge challenge for myself is to educate myself in how to (and to try to) build inspirational cultures and sets of behaviours which engage players and acknowledges them as unique individuals and people (not just as dots on a tactics board). This work is voluntary. The backdrop to this has been my work in the Business Intelligence sector for the last twenty years including a decade in which I contracted and ran my own company. In the decade prior to this (1990s), I graduated from the University of Birmingham with a Masters (Distinction) in Applied Meteorology & Climatology. I subsequently worked as a Meteorologist before travelling round client sites in Europe installing television weather-systems. I then jumped into the dot-com bubble (and rode out the bust). I spent my most formative dot-com years at jungle.com before sharpening my Business Intelligence skills with six great years at I.T. Performs and then contracting for the next decade.
Listed skills include Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, Etl, Business Objects, and 15 others.
