At the Dimlington Gas terminal, I am currently working as an offshore control room operator working within a small team. I am responsible for the safe and efficient running of the offshore assets to set production parameters, ensuring the safety at all times of my colleagues within the field through good lines of communication and monitoring of the DCS & F&G/ESD control systems. I am also expected to be involved with the start up/shutdown of equipment, preparation of plant for maintenance procedures, carrying out thorough checks and reporting any inconsistencies to the shift team leader/offshore installation manager.I am required to conduct the role of performing authority and Isolating authority within the permit to work system, and I am also expected to be involved with the creation and review of maintenance preparation procedures and process operating procedures.

As an Operations Leader within the Basic Oxygen Steelmaking plant, I am responsible for the Management and Leadership of 2 direct reports and 60+ indirect reports. Daily tasks involve, but are not limited too - HR Matters (grievance, disciplinary and overtime management), all aspects of Health and Safety (risk assessment, policy and procedures) and Operational Control Measures (GMP). I have proven to be a results driven leader, and have achieved exceptional results, displaying excellent rational problem solving skills with a very clear communication and transformational leadership style.

I ensured productivity levels were maintained (OEE, and KPI's), and that the highest levels of efficiency and continuous improvement were installed and developed throughout the TATA's daily culture. I used various Coaching and Leadership styles to help deliver the results required, supporting the overarching strategies and overall business vision. I was an extremely hands-on leader (Side by Side), who recognised motivation was key to organisational success. I always ensured my team worked in a safe, but efficient manner, clear and concise communication played a key role in my success.
