Tasked with managing positive relationships and continuously achieve measurable improvements in the overall departmental performance and inter-departmental synergies. Recruited in 2011 with a mandate to rebuild the Safety Management System, develop a positive relationship with front-line employees, building a management team to exceed regulatory compliance, standardize operational practices, introduce quality assurance and exceed existing financial targets.

Ottawa, Canada Area

Recruited directly into the Vice President position and reporting to the President / CEO. The Vice President Flight Operations is responsible for the control of operations and operational standards of all aircraft within a fleet of 20 aircraft operating throughout the Canadian Arctic and worldwide charter operations. Provide strategic direction and leadership to a departmental staff of over 300, including two Director-level direct reports and over 200 unionized employees belonging to three independent unions. In conjunction with the Executive Team, develop and implement corporate policy, operating plans and foster a positive culture that embraces safety and corporate philosophies. As a member of the Executive Team, analyze and make decisions with respect to the composition and deployment of the fleet to maximize effectiveness and mitigate risk.

Reporting to the President and responsible for the control of operations and operational standards of all aircraft within a fleet of up to 25 aircraft deployed worldwide and provide strategic direction and leadership to a departmental staff of over 300, including three Director-level direct reports and 220 unionized employees. Tasked with and continued success managing positive relationships with two independent unions and continuously achieve measurable improvements in the overall departmental performance and inter-departmental synergies. Recruited in 1997 as a direct entry Captain and within 18 months appointed Manager, Training with a mandate to rebuild the training department, develop and document training programs, generate a team of training professionals, standardize all training practices and meet or exceed regulatory requirements. Appointed Vice President Flight Operations in 2003 with a mandate to create operational efficiencies and strengthen the corporate relationship with the pilot group and Transport Canada.
