During my 40+ years in the communications business, I have been involved with a host of diverse technologies. I started in the US Air Force as a Crypto technician at NORAD. After the military I joined GTE Federal (now Verizon) Systems. As a government contractor we were tasked with maintenance of a broad array of communications equipment at the Consolidated Space Operations Center at Falcon AFB Colorado. After the contract ended I accepted an opportunity in telephony installing telecom and long distance solutions in businesses of every size from small offices to large factories and hospitals. This eventually led me into wireless telecom! As a lead tech and SME in the communication center at Sprint, I was involved with every facet from installation, to maintenance, to daily operations. In 2009 Ericsson took over maintenance of Sprint's network with their managed services contract, of which I was a part, until 2010 when I transferred over as a direct employee of Ericsson. As a Network Deployment Services Engineer, I helped to build out and optimize new wireless networks for AT&T's UMTS (WCDMA) network and Sprint's NV LTE 4G expansion. At present I am a Service Assurance Engineer at one of Verizon's distribution network centers in Nashville Tennessee.
