Manage reliability labs for entire Huntsville operations including scheduling and supervising technicians. Use Microsoft Project to schedule all lab activities and provide each business unit with program schedules. Create Sharepoint sites for each of the business units and post updated Reliability Lab schedules and tasks for them to review. Create flow charts and furnish technicians an overview of the testing they are to perform. Meet with each business unit monthly to recommend testing for upcoming projects and to review schedules. Program all the various controller types for the facility's Thermotron chambers. Prepare all budgets, cost analyses, and quotes for the reliability department and present to upper management. Program vibration control systems to meet the customer specification, and manage the outsourcing of reliability testing. Write all reliability operations test reports for submittal to the customer. Provide tester debugging and support to each of the business units.

Responsible for hardware design of complex functional test fixtures that include electro-mechanical switching, pneumatic control, and digital IO control. Performed schematic capture and board layout using Windraft, Winboard, OrCad Capture, and OrCad Layout. Most designs were for the automotive functional test market using an 8051-based microcontroller. Planned and tracked every project from the time the order was placed until it shipped. Scheduled and supervised two technicians.

Responsible for sales, marketing, quoting, purchasing and invoicing in connection with all operations. Provided schematic captures, board layouts, hardware and mechanical designs for an embedded 8051 lighting system for the radio and television tower industry, PIC Processor with USB system for the health care industry, and an embedded processor controlled system for a RF transmitter and receiver for the military. All schematic captures and board layouts were performed using the OrCad Unison Suite Capture and Layout. Some experience in using Hyperlynx simulations.

Served as lead design engineer for a military contractor. The project required design of a RF control to operate lights for a portable runway system. Developed both the RF transmitter and receiver units. The micro-controller was an 80C32 that used a Waferscale PSD for the glue logic and Flash Memory. Completed all schematic capture with Orcad Express and interfaced with the board manufacturer to complete the PCBs.

Worked as lead engineer on a 12:1 digital pair gain system (LMX Project) for the telecommunications industry. Designed the LMX using HDSL for the framing scheme between the Central Office Unit and the Remote Unit. Performed all software modifications to 80C32 based DSP control software written in C. Modifications were made using the Microsoft Visual C++ program as the editor and then compiled on the Keil DK51 compiler. Used the Nohau C51 emulator running the Seehau software package for all source line debugging, and derived all of the Boolean equations for the PALS and used Opal Jr. as the compiler to create the JEDEC file. Responsible for all component selections and approvals for the entire LMX project. Used Orcad Express for schematic capture and exported the netlist in PADS format. Recommended layout of the PCBs to the CAD designer and worked with an outside source in the design, schematic capture, layout, and testing of several DC-to-DC switching power supplies. Traveled to Syria and Venezuela and made technical presentations to the Director General and other key management members of the Syrian Telephone Company. Created test documents for the engineering lab and manufacturing and provided design support on a fiber optic lightning protection device that separated the PC and telephone outlet.

Design of Electronic Equipment for the Telecommunications Industry. Managed the Field Installers for a international deployment.

Performed schematic capture, minor circuit design, testing and troubleshooting of T1/E1 test and transmission equipment, environmental testing, component approval, test fixture design, customer service, circuit assembly, writing of test procedures, and debugging automated test programs.

Engineering Prototype Development

Supported the production test line for IBM motherboards. Ran the ICT, performed all debugging, and repaired PCBs. Transferred to the Machine Shop and managed the tool crib.
