Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Biospecimen Core Resource's (BCR) continuing Informatics projects and developing new implementations executed by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Cancer Institute (NCI), Office of Cancer Genomics (OCG), and National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI). The BCR is responsible for supporting the start of the biospecimen processing pipeline and clinical data collection for many projects including The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), the Cancer Discovery Driver Project (CDDP), the Burkitt Lymphoma Genome Sequencing Project (BLGSP), and many more. The main goal of this pipeline is to standardize the initial processing and screening of biospecimens, as well as facilitate standardization of the clinical data collection and transmission to the Data Coordinating Centers (DCC) and Genomics Data Commons (GDC).The 12 member team is responsible for the implementation, development, and administration of many home-grown Java applications, an instance of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) LabVantage, and an instance of the clinical data capture system OpenClinica, Reporting and data transfer are facilitated through our custom developed data warehouse and ETL processes via transformation into XML and submission through data centers specifications.

Led a small team’s daily activities. Responsible for system administration and database administration for OpenClinica clinical data capture system with hundreds of users. Responsible for system administration of Microsoft Dynamics CRM system. Helped develop clinical data forms and QC process for form deployment. Helped develop and maintain QC application checking thousands of data elements. Developed custom ad hoc reports to aid in data quality efforts.

Responsible for management of interaction, sample shipments and clinical data submission to The Cancer Genome Atlas project from assigned Tissue Source Sites, and then monitor sample progress through the QC assessment. Act as a liaison between doctors and tissue banks and NCH laboratory. Performed training for doctors and clinical research coordinators regarding TCGA project requirements, shipping, and QC assessment SOPs.

Began by performing Phase I ESAs and Phase II soil and groundwater sampling. Progressed to project management of Phase I, Phase II ESAs, and Commercial Risk Assessments and then to managing BUSTR Tier I and Tier II projects. Experience with Ohio VAP projects, soil and groundwater sampling, contaminant and groundwater modeling, Ground Penetrating Radar, AutoCAD map drawing, report writing, and client interaction.

ACI Certified. Nuclear Densometer Certified. Performed concrete, density and asphalt testing. Wrote daily observation and testing reports for client interaction. Performed Atterberg limit and Proctor compaction testing.
