Global Procurement Category Leader
• Overall category responsibility for Print, Literature Distribution, Direct Mail, Samples and Premiums which includes providing the strategic and tactical lead to categories and working with the Business Unit on development, creation and implementation of needed strategy, contracts, programs and systems. Work with the group doing day-to-day activities to address their Procurement needs and insure they are compliant to BMS Purchasing Policies and all governmental rules and regulations as it pertains to the category. Validates that selected preferred suppliers deliver needed quality, service.• Conduct sourcing projects for assigned categories (developing the sourcing team, conducting RFI and RFP, bidding auctions) and oversee the development of contract, negotiation and implementation of contracts, supplier performance and other ad hoc programs. Many sourcing projects and category management projects are cross-divisional in nature.• The Print and Literature Distribution Process Improvement Continuum has resulted in $22.307M in validated savings and identified $2.2M in future savings opportunities. Activities such as move from a Push to Pull model, competitive bidding, negotiated savings, negotiated rebates, paper tier savings, change the number of proofs required, PI paper change from 40# down to the current 27#, moving PI’s to Just In Time Printing, re-bidding PI program, RFP Literature Distribution category, move Clinical Trial process to a POD and virtual warehouse model and standardize speaker program.• Lead on Global Print and Premium team that reviewed potential global print and premium practices, interact and coordinate between GP teams, suppliers and key stakeholders in all geographies to define, leverage and execute global category strategies, best practices, tools, processes and common goals and metrics.• Created global assessment of the Print and Premium categories. • Created and manage scorecards for the Print and Premium categories.
