I performed as Sergeant of the Guard of a strategic assets/nuclear submarine base for my fist 2 year duty station. During that time I lead a team of roughly 180 Marines and sailors in the mission of complete security of static posts, mobile posts, and strategic movements. I was in charge of training, logistics, weapons, vehicles, military and civilian personnel. I managed a 6 hours on, 6 hours off post schedule for all personnel. During my time at this location, I was certified as a marksmanship instructor for both rifle and pistol. After achieving the billet of Sergeant of the Guard and receiving the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, I joined infantry unit 3/7 and finished my Marine Corps career as combat squad leader, achieving the rank of E-5/Sergeant in only 3 years and 3 months.
