I was involved with all of the O&G clients and tasked with mentoring the other team members to increase the presence of Tyco’s product portfolio in the O&G sector. Whilst Tycos O&G revenue stream wasn’t a big portion of their overall sales, I managed to increase this in a short period of time through strategic planning.

In this time, I managed and mentored 3 external and 6 internal sales staff, along with tendering several major projects

Starting in the Western Australian branch as Senior Sales Engineer, I was heavily involved with most of the mining clients to establish product exposure and sales. Within the first 6 months I had won several large orders, the opportunity to relocate back to Victoria came up and I took the Victorian Managers role established strategies and plans to increase sales revenue through project and MRO business.

Through 9 years with Flowserve I had various positions starting in order administration, international purchasing. Through learning the products and attending internal training schools, along with overseas development schools, I developed into application engineering for both valve and pump applications. After several years of understanding applications, I was appointed to Sales Engineer and then to Senior Sales engineer where I achieved the year on year budget through wining valve and pump packages for the nickel and mining industries. Through the 9 years at Flowserve it gave me great foundations for application experience and business experience which has allowed me to get to where I am today.

After completing year 12 I took a position with a Kitchen manufacturer as a junior and was tasked with costing their sales contracts and calculating gross profit forecasts and salesman’s commissions and incentives. In addition to this I started writing small programs in Dataflex and generated their systems into a more electronic format, including all their past orders into a more organised and workable filing structure.
