I have a lifetime of experience in the Abattoir and Red Meat Industry, starting as a Junior Slaughterman from High School age; I qualified as a senior multi species slaughterman at Newcastle abattoir. I enhanced my meat industry career by successfully completing a four year trade as a Butcher with a Swiss Italian specialist in Southern NSW, and going on to complete my “Masters” in Butchery at Newcastle TAFE. Whilst still in the Butchery trade I completed further study and training over two years at UNE Armidale with a Certificate in Rural Science and Meat Science, Genetics, Sheep and Wool, Animal Husbandry Feedlot Cattle, Animal Nutrition and Meat Processing.Three Years with Tafe NSW in Meat and Livestock, Qualifying with a Certificate as a Federal Meat and Livestock Inspector for AQIS, with high ranking passes. (1st in the State in the 1st Year, 2nd in the State in the 2nd and 3rd Year)I completed further training at Southern Game Meats in Auburn at part of my AQIS training.I am professionally trained with 40 years’ experience from Paddock to Plate. I have extensive experience in the Abattoir industry including an appointment as Plant Manager for a domestic abattoir in regional NSW, processing Cattle, Sheep and pigs. Moving forward and looking ahead to a rewarding management role, In 2017 I completed studies at TAFE NSW in Certificate IV training and assessment, I am now qualified to train and assess staff on the job in Meat Processing, Butchery and Meat Inspection. While Livestock, Meat Processing, Meat Inspection and Master Butchery are my foundation, I am an experienced middle and upper level manager with extensive skills ready to pursue a challenging role as Plant Manager or QAM.
