It’s not all about things that go bang!With over a decade of experience enabling the flow of technology from within academia and cross Government ecosystems to diverse commercial sectors, I am passionate about driving the realisation of new products from early concepts. I am as engaged and tuned it to as much today as I was on day one.From Classics to Chemistry, Engineering to Astro-Physics I am technology agnostic and having strong interpersonal skills I am happy to engage all stakeholders from inventors, academics and clinicians to KOLs, and business leaders at all levels.As the UK’s leading defence and security technology transfer company and the commercialisation arm for MOD, Dstl and AWE, Ploughshare has responsibility for taking IP developed for defence and security applications and exploiting it for the greater good of society.With my VP Commercialisation for Health and Life Sciences role at Ploughshare, I now conceive and execute cradle-to-grave processes from early stage, low TRL medical and health care technology disclosure, through to successful out-licensing, including;• IP evaluation and patent landscaping• Competitive analysis• Defining value proposition• Market analysis• Developing commercial opportunity• Customer engagement• Post deal management.With 8 spin-outs under my belt from across my technology transfer career and having sat as a NED on several of these boards, I have considerable experience of new-co creation and fund raising by; • Providing strategic leadership and operational control • Developing business propositions and financials plans • Building high performance management teams• Managing stakeholder relationships• Raising seed investment • Negotiating technology licenses and company documents.Seeing the fruits of these labours mature into tangible products that make a real positive impact on us all, keeps me in the game.If you would like to learn more and to discuss ways of collaborating, please feel free to connect and message me.
