Comptia Instructor (A+, Net+, Sec+, Linux+)
I taught the fundamentals of IT and then demonstrated how to assemble and/or add hardware and peripherals, install software, and configure & maintain the system (of hardware and software) to specifications across multiple platforms (i.e. x86 vs. x64), file systems (i.e. FAT, NTFS, EXT3/4, NFS, etc.) and operating environments such as (2000/XP/Vista/7), Server OS's (2000/2003) and Debian and RPM Linux distros.I expanded the IT 'core' to include the underlying concepts of communications in a system (or network) of machines in a peer or client/server network including TCP/IP protocol suite, addressing, switching, interior gateway routing (i.e. RIP, OSPF, etc.), transmission media and topology (i.e. Ethernet/802.3 and WiFi/802.11). I demonstrated a structured approach of identifying, isolating and resolving connectivity issues using the OSI Reference Model.I taught how to implement and monitor security as well as respond to breaches. The objectives met were: identifying vulnerabilities vs. threats (including social engineering); hardening internal systems and services as well as internetwork devices and services; securing network communications (i.e. IPsec, TLS, SSL, WPA, MAC filtering, etc.); introducing IPv6; enforcing organizational polices and managing incidents. Topics included were authentication, authorization, key based encryption (PKI), access control, disaster recovery and risk management.I facilitated labs and exercises for knowledge of the differences between modular Linux vs. monolithic Windows platforms; partitioning; ext2, ext3, ext4 and Reiser file system formats; installation and package management of Debian and RPM distros, use the command line interface (CLI) in a BASH shell to communicate with the OS; use of the vi text editor for system configuration; manage users and groups in a CLI and GUI interface; perform system administration tasks such as managing daemons and scheduling jobs (chron) and understanding the File Hierarchy System (FHS).

Engineering Asst / Technical Administrator
Designed 3D parametric (i.e. smart) models of the upgraded nose assembly for the FH1100 helicopter utilizing SOLIDWORKS and CATIA. I generated/ produced assembly and detailed drawings for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval. Specifically:Worked in conjunction the Type Certificate owner and original designers for the modernization of the FH-1100 Helicopter.Reviewed and analyzed specifications, sketches, engineering drawings, ideas, and related design data to determine factors affecting the nose redesign. Developed detailed design drawings and specifications for the Nose Modification according to engineering sketches, design proposals, molds and mockups. Laid out and drafted schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components and assemblies.Placed engineering notes and instructions onto drawings to illustrate and describe installation details. Computed mathematical formulas of designated stations and lofts to develop a 3D model of the FH1100. Modified and revised designs to correct operating deficiencies or to improve production feasibility.Developed CAD standards for the newly formed CAD department. SPECIFIC ACCOMPLISMENTS:Nose Kit Assembly check prints were completed and submitted to Design Engineer Review (DER) four months ahead of schedule.
