At PNC Bank, I maintained and improved an insider threat program focused on mitigating and preventing security incidents caused by insiders, overseeing approximately 55,000 employees and contractors. My work concentrated on ethics violations, including embezzlement, document falsification, and incentive violations. My area of responsibility included safeguarding PNC's cyber footprint by investigating and preventing data loss, unauthorized software use, and risky network behavior by employees. Collaborating with Human Resources, the Security Operations Center (SOC), Legal departments, and detection teams, I improved existing capabilities and expanded our view of undetected incidents. I developed new metrics to capture program and employee activity, provided regular executive briefings, and conducted a study focusing on the relationship between insider risk events and tenure which led to enhancements in pre-employment screening and onboarding. My efforts with technology owners and the data loss prevention team resulted in a 74% reduction in a specific incident type between 2022 and 2023. Additionally, I spearheaded the adoption of two new technologies for better employee monitoring and risk prevention, led the program through two successful internal audits, and worked closely with insider threat leaders in a variety of industries.

As a Supervisory Special Agent with the United States Secret Service, Technical Security Division, I launched a new branch responsible for maintaining and securing the network infrastructure for all security systems in the White House and other Secret Service-protected facilities throughout the U.S. I hired and led a team of 12, developed and managed an $8.8M budget, and mentored and trained employees. I created and implemented policies and procedures, worked closely with IT professionals, and provided accurate briefings to senior executives. I oversaw information security for 15 programs, concurrent technical projects, and diverse teams, recommending network security changes to mitigate risk while maintaining operational capabilities. I ensured compliance with FISMA and the NIST Risk Management Framework (800-53), establishing accountability and standards across the division. I reviewed security threats, determined and implemented countermeasures, led the development of a new enterprise architecture, and drove security strategies that aligned with operational requirements. Additionally, I created business proposals to secure additional funding for enhancing hardware and software monitoring applications through thorough cost-benefit analysis. As the supervisor of the Electronic Crimes Section at the United States Secret Service, Washington Field Office, I directed agents and officers during complex multi-national investigations, forensic examinations, and critical-systems protection. I chaired the Washington D.C. Electronic Crimes Task Force, a coalition of over 300 individuals from law enforcement, academia, and private industry focused on combating cybercrime. I coordinated multiple complex international cyber investigations, guided teams, shared technical expertise, and mentored inexperienced investigators. I launched a first-of-its-kind Secret Service/student mentoring program in partnership with the University of Maryland, recruiting US Secret Service leaders to participate and pair with cybersecurity students.Prior to my role in electronic crimes, I led a team overseeing Secret Service protection events in the National Capital Region. My responsibilities included approving security plans, guiding event preparation, communicating with involved organizations, and resolving issues. I served as the field office supervisor for the 2016 Nuclear Security Summit and participated in multiple National Special Security Events, primarily as the Chairperson of the Multi-Agency Communication Center. I effectively communicated with high-ranking foreign delegations while advancing security events.Upon my promotion, I provided first-line supervision on the 24x7 operations desk, responding to incidents at the White House, Vice President’s residence, and other areas under Secret Service jurisdiction. I contributed planning and technical input for the build-out of a new operations center,, conducted daily briefings, tracked protectee movements and investigative missions, and briefed senior leadership on critical incidents.

As a Special Agent with the United States Secret Service, Technical Security Division, I played a crucial role in the Physical Security Branch by installing and maintaining electronic security systems at the White House and other Secret Service protected facilities. I served as the lead technician for the Vice President’s residence and oversaw the installation of a new intrusion detection system at Camp David.
