Come from a background in outdoor sports. Left ski patrol to pursue medicine. Road carried me through University of Colorado, the Bronx, Residency at Yale and a 15 year career in academic medicine at Brown. I worked in the division of sports medicine both at our clinic and as a team physician for team Novonordisk. My research focus was sports injury prevention and have worked with national and international organizations on a broad array of health issues. Much of my work with Novo and also with the hospital system was working with the press. I’m very comfortable in front of the camera and have worked major press conferences. I continue to work as an emergency physician, which is my life’s work. I’ve left academic medicine and work in a critical access hospital providing care in Brockton Mass. I consider my job and coworkers amongst the best around. I continue to work in profession cycling as a team physician for Human Powered Health. My specialized role in the team is running the head injury program. I’ve done significant work wit concussion, in the hospital setting, in a specialized concussion clinic, and developed the first protocols on pro cycling for field management of head injuries.
