Reporting to the site General Manager, I had overall responsibility for the Manual Assembly Division within OM, manufacturing a range of single use medical devices. I had accountability for a flexing team of up to 100 Associates which included permanent and agency staff, Team Leaders, Operators, Process Engineers and Quality Compliance roles across multiple shifts.I was successful in driving productivity improvements using lean tools and techniques resulting in sustained efficiency improvements and cost reduction. I identified and led an improvement project which delivered sufficient uplift in productivity it removed the need for Night Shift working. I drove a change in culture where mass batch production was rife and implemented continuous flow assembly supported by visual management used to sustain the productivity gains.

Bidford-Upon-Avon

Reporting to the European Director of Operations, I was part of the Site Leadership Team and responsible for managing all aspects of the Ophthalmic Kit Value Stream. During our weekly Executive Steering Committee meetings I was responsible for reporting on Quality, Delivery, Cost and EHS KPI's along with identified countermeasures to recover any performance issues.I managed a diverse team of Production and Logistics Associates, Team Leaders, Planner, Process Engineer and Customer facing Administrators. I was responsible for all CI activities within my Value Stream which through strategic delivery achieved both cost and lead time reductions. I was also part of the Lead Team for the implementation of the IFS ERP system with responsibility for the process design for Production, Logistics and Quality.

Bidford-Upon-Avon

I first joined BD as a Team Leader reporting to the Production / CI Manager. I enjoyed rapid success being rewarded with greater responsibility and also became the site Continuous Improvement Engineer.I worked with diverse teams from USA and Germany on the implementation of Lean Materials Management and an MES Data Collection system, which integrated with SAP. I organized and lead an extensive redesign of the factory layout and equipment diverging the Kits Production and Instruments/Knives manufacturing areas. I also lead Kaizen events to identify and eliminate waste, improving process efficiency utilizing lean tools such as Process Mapping, 5'S, SMED, Poka Yoke.

Responsible for introduction of a new product design, establishing a new Midlands supply base.Visited China and successfully established the manufacture of two product lines to our design and specification.Overall responsibility for Quality Management System
