Studio 804 is a yearlong, graduate level architecture studio offered by the School of Architecture Design and Planning at the University of Kansas. Each year students design and construct a building that focuses on researching and developing sustainable, affordable, and inventive building solutions. The Studio 804 experience includes designing, hiring and working with consultants, establishing budgets, producing construction documents and getting permits, as well as the physical act of building. The 2013 class of Studio 804 designed and constructed the Hill Engineering Research and Development Center (HERDC) on the campus of the University of Kansas. The HERDC is designed to house and showcase the work of the EcoHawks Program, a group of mechanical engineering students whose research focuses on alternative energy for transportation. Projected as Studio 804's sixth LEED Platinum building, this project facilitates and showcases the EcoHawks' alternative energy research and has provided Studio 804 with the opportunity to continue its tradition of designing and constructing high-quality, innovative and sustainable buildings. As a member of the student design/build team, my areas of focus were plumbing systems, water conservation, and possible Passive House certification.

Graduate Teaching Assistant for ARCH 205 - Natural Forces, an introductory architecture course focusing on how natural forces affect the built environment. Responsibilities included keeping class records, grading projects and exams, and assisting during class as needed.

Worked as an intern at a small German architecture firm. Duties and tasks included producing CAD drawings, working on schematic and design development phases of assigned projects, and creating renderings.
