Mark is currently the Head of New Business Generation at Matheson LLP.Prior to moving into his current position, Mark qualified as a Chartered Accountant in global advisory firm, BDO, where he spent 12 years advising some of Ireland’s most successful businesses. His work originated in corporate finance/corporate recovery and more recently, he spent 5 years leading the BDO Ireland, client management and sales function, as their Head of Business Development. In 2021, Mark joined Korn Ferry Ireland, heading up their Financial Services sector, where he supported clients in sourcing the best executive talent. Mark is a Member of the Association of Chartered Accountants (ACA), since 2012.Mark is commercial, client focused and passionate about his clients success and growth. He has a strong network in the business community, with an accomplished track record in project management and business development. Mark’s experience has lead to additional appointments as Independent Director, Board Member and Committee Member (& Chair) of other Irish / US companies. Notably, Mark sits on the board of the NASDAQ listed PLC, Nutriband Inc. (NTRB) who are primarily engaged in the development of a portfolio of transdermal pharmaceutical products.Mark also works as a lecturer with TU Dublin where he leads a module in Professional Communications & Employment Preparation. He also acts as a lecturer and graduate / student mentor with a range of institutions/bodies including; PAT Business School, TU Dublin, Inner City Enterprise, and Young Professionals Ireland.Educated at Terenure College, Mark went on to study a B.Sc. degree in Business & Management at Dublin Institute of Technology and subsequently received First Class Honours in his postgraduate degree, for which he specialised in Accountancy in 2009. In addition to his ACA qualification, Mark completed a diploma in Corporate Governance and is now a member of the Corporate Governance Institute.Separately, Mark is entering his 15th season in management of Terenure College RFC’s 1st XV where he has assisted them in achieving promotion from Division 2A to 1A and (more recently) assisting them in winning the Leinster Senior Cup, Leinster League title, Bateman Cup & the AIL title, all in 2022/2023. Mark also acts as the Ireland Rugby Club Team Manager, a position he is extremely proud to hold and has had success in, helping the team win the Dalriada Cup in his 1st season.
