FounderDesignibl Dec 2019 - Nov 2022Designibl means "Design Inspired By Life" and its purpose is to inform and create products that improve everyday life through accessibility and interconnectivity.The company was formed at the end of 2019 to create products that enhance the ever-growing digital layer of services people interact with everyday.Our first product "Escapada" was originally created to connect the feedback loop of the hospitality industry with relevant personalised data through an app for hotels, holiday-lets & Airbnbs. Later put on hold due to the effect of the pandemic on the industry instead becoming a technical consultancy for startups.Escapada:- Created a multi platform app on SwiftUI (iOS/ipadOS/MacOS/tvOS)- Backend mix of Python running on AWS Lambda, external apis & no code solutions (Contentful, Supabase, Auth0)- Design system created in Sketch originally, later moving to FigmaRecently I have created a POC for https://www.fauxbooks.co.uk called Layout Creation Kit to automate the lengthy manual task of creating layouts of their faux bookend system. - Created a website to efficiently iterate through the possible permutations and time efficiently create layouts within set parameters of a bookcase. Graduate Software EngineerTesco Aug 2017 - Jul 2018Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, GbPart of Profile team, developing concurrent systems, maintaining and reducing legacy systems and informing team strategy.- Moved the team away from on-premise infrastructure using AWS.- Automated cloud infrastructure by creating Terraform and Ansible scripts.- Created Java, JavaScript and Python Lambdas.- Created and used Docker containers, for example, automating the use of these in unit testing for Kafka and Couchbase.- Part of the hiring process and subsequently mentored a new team member from a code academy. - Mentored a team of four through a Tesco Labs placement, creating an Android app to help in-store colleagues return stock to shelves by efficiently routing them around the store. Technology InternTesco Plc Jul 2016 - Sep 2016Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, GbPart of the Transport and Tracking team, working with a remote team in India, reducing the number of complaints around late deliveries.- Created a transport and tracking system from scratch to solve how best to use new hardware and software capabilities to optimise the customer and in house experience. This was done by taking delivery schedules and combining with live traffic data from Google Maps to create dynamic scheduling and inform customers of where their delivery was at any time.
