Having successfully served my time with Associated British Ports located at Grimsby and Immingham within electrical maintenance, I undertook further development to undertake the role of control system technician, responsible for the design and maintenance of control systems around the ports, which predominantly focussed on the Humber International Coal Handling Facility. This was later developed to encapsulate the Humber ports as a whole by taking responsibility for Hull and Goole.With continuing development and further education, I moved to the role of Electrical Engineer, Humber, where I was responsible for the management of the electrical networks around the ports, overseeing both maintenance and project works.This then expanded into the role as Engineering Maintenance Manager, Humber, for which I am responsible for overseeing the maintenance budget with respect to the Engineering Department. The role developed into Deputy Engineering Manager, Humber, responsible for delivering revenue and non-revenue works throughout the maintenance and project engineering functions.Promotion to Group Technical Authority becoming the responsible for ensuring policy and procedure is complied with, developing systems and maintaining pace with legislative and technical requirements.Most recently moving into the Interim Head of Technical Assurance, being responsible for leading the team I was previous part of, ensuring that the organisation is duly undertaking the requirements against policy and process, managing risk and improving where necessary.During this time, I have maintained my status as an IET member and gained Chartered Engineer status and continued to develop professional experience such a Senior Authorised Person and involvement in the formulation and management of engineering contracts.
