Advertising Production Team Leader –CORE Creative, Booth Mid-Michigan Publisher of The Bay City Times, The Saginaw News and The Flint Journal. The purpose of CORE Creative is the development of effective advertising campaigns in multiple forms of media; newspaper, direct mail, reverse publishing to the internet. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Advertising Production Team Leader provides training and leadership for the production department and its employees. The Team Leader also provides day-to-day management of the department which includes but is not limited to: Staffing and scheduling, development of department policy and procedures, staff training and provide support to the newspapers management team.Specific responsibilities include:• Schedule staff• Administer S.N.A.P. (Specifications for Newsprint Advertising Production) guidelines• Design Print and Direct Mail Advertising• Paginate (layout) newspaper• Train staff• Maintain and run upgrades to relevant departmental applications• Assist in chain-wide “help desk” issues• Make sure all ads are accounted for• Make sure all ads are produced in a timely manner

Production Supervisor –The Bay City Times and The Saginaw News Reporting to the Ad Directors of each newspaper, responsible for the production departments, the in-house print shop and out-going mail. Lead the merger of two Pre-Press Production Departments, which in turn was the catalyst for future mergers of other Booth Michigan production mergers. For the Bay City Times and its sales staff meant that the ad-production would be at a remote facility. Lead the implementation of an electronic tearsheet program, (Ad Infinitums E-tearsheets), whose purpose was to eliminate the postage cost associated with mailing proof of publication in the newspaper. The advertiser received immediate access via the internet to their proof instead of waiting days for proof to come in the mail. Was the leader of the IPIX group for the Bay City Times and the Saginaw News. IPIX introduced Bay City Times and Saginaw News customers to a new browser based way of placing a classified ad in either publication. My part was not only to coordinate the group, but to create a placeholder graphic that would size the customer’s uploaded photo, convert it from RGB digital to CMYK print, add a generic curve to the image and add a degree of sharpness to the image via an embedded script on said placeholder. I also set up applications that allowed multiple applications to communicate with each other and the automated email notification that the customer would receive after placing ad.

Helped lead the department from hot wax paste-up to electronic pagination, which in turn increased time efficiency. Part of a team that changed the storage structure of ads within a server of dated folders to Production Manager Pro Advertising Database.• Responsible for all staff scheduling• Responsible for workflow of ads• Responsible for the Daily flow of pages.

Responsible for the recruitment and training of newspaper carriers, ensured the timely delivery of the paper, collection of bills from carriers as well as assisting in collection of bills from delinquent subscribers. Was also responsible for recruiting potential applicants by developing relationships with the local schools, retention and solicitation of new subscribers and delivered papers when necessary.
