Responsible for the integration and management of a multifunctional assembly manufacturing team for the production of the first set of A350 wings through the various stages of wing manufacture including overseas management at the Airbus Bremen & Toulouse final assembly line. The role involvedrobust daily communications with the head of A350 production and the head of wing program.

Airbus Broughton

Responsible for the development and delivery of the phase 1 A350 wing assembly production system at the Airbus Broughton site. This included a new 48,000sq/m manufacturing production system facility. Primarily the role encompassed the integration and leadership of a multifunctional launch team including extensive management of suppliers through initial bid process to project completion and handover to the operational customer. The total capital investment & budget management of phase 1 was €340m.

Brougton / Filton

Responsible for the A380 Freighter component design assembly build team, including Design, Manufacturing Engineering, Logistics, Operations & Flight test enablement to meet Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People Targets. Responsibility for €30m Launch Investment budget.The project was cancelled in 2006..

Filton / Chester

Responsible for the integration and management of a mutifunctional component design build team for the A380 wing covers & wing tip / fence based in Filton. This involved the daily management of the component design, manufacturing engineering and procurement teams. The role also included extensive management of risk sharing partners to assure component delivery to time cost and quality both on site and at supplier sites.Following the completion and delivery of MSN 001 components I picked up the role as MSN 001 wing version manager through wing assembly and equipping at the Broughton facility and into the final assembly line in Toulouse upto first flight.

Prestwick

Industrial system transfer of Boeing 767 fixed leading edge industrial system from Boeing plant in Philadelphia USA. Extensive customer interface with Boeing Everett final assembly line in Seattle and on site supplier operations managers in Prestwick. Re engineering of assembly system with UK tooling suppliers. Full budget authority for all phases of project delivery including final commissioning with site facilities teams.

Chadderton

Responsible for the management and control of £8m Annual budget involving a total of 90 employees. Leading the major change programme, embracing the latest lean manufacturing principles. Additional responsibility included the strategic development of the business, in line with the BAE Systems value planning process.

Chadderton, Manchester

Responsible for the running of the Jig & Tool Engineering & NC programming teams at the Chadderton site location. This involved the daily management of 22 engineers on various customer projects including RJ 146, Nimrod, Harrier and Airbus aircraft.
