• Managed network infrastructure for a financial services firm. • Responsible for maintaining a network of CentOS, Fedora Core, and Windows Server 2003 systems running web, mail, database, and central file servers for interoffice and client communications. • Developed Asterisk IP telephony and call-center solutions for office and client use. • Virtualized a number of individual IVR trees on a single Asterisk PBX server to establish dedicated call handling for the company’s subsidiaries and clients.

• Designed a custom mailing list manager for the dissemination of press releases via the company’s membership database as well as their clients’ stockholder lists. • Using the C programming language I designed, created, and implemented a multi-threaded web crawler application over a large multi-node international network. The purpose of the application was to collect data and form a SQL database from the information obtained. • The application also comprised a custom web-based configuration and network monitoring tool and a content management system that allows custom database queries and constructs a website from data stored within a MySQL database via the web crawler itself. • Maintained and administered an international multi-site network of 80 Redhat Linux and BSD servers running web services, mail services, FTP services, and the web crawler under high network load.

• Network architect and administrator for a tier 2 B2B Internet service provider under a three year consulting contract from March 2003 to April 2006 on a round the clock basis. • Designed and maintained a highly automated high security datacenter network with multiple, redundant tier 1 peers and numerous client private fiber loops. • Interfaced with a large number of clients on a daily basis to assist them in the deployment, management, and troubleshooting of their fiber loops, servers, applications, and data.• Created a range of scripts both internal and external to the network to alert network administrators via email and SMS (text) messages as to system or network status changes.• Responsible for traffic/BGP routing, network monitoring, network security, troubleshooting network issues, administration of client servers/clusters, automated data backup and retrieval, and application deployment and support for around 600 servers running various UNIX, Linux, and Windows OS.

• E-commerce web development with an integrated billing/shipping management interface and an interactive user front-end. • Created a C application that created a 3 dimensional image of custom designed products that was then used to display the product’s likeness to the customer based on information fed into the application by them on the website. This was accomplished using GIF image libraries to generate a representation of the product in an image format. • The primary function of the application was to act as a custom order product designer and cost calculator that provided an actual price to the customer based on real-time raw materials and labor cost. • The application also extrapolated and graphically depicted the most efficient usage of the raw materials at hand for the customer’s design parameters and made material choices by taking into account the actual raw material stress tolerances in structural applications.

• Architected and built an end-user DSL Internet service provider network for a small Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC). • Primary contributor to the design and deployment of the network from scratch. • Developed many custom tools to automate the processes of user account creation, user database management, billing (including tools for the determination and improvement of the Average-Revenue-Per-Subscriber (ARPU)), parental controls, email and address management, customer network usage monitoring, troubleshooting, and bug tracking. Administration of Redback SMS modular routers, Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexers (DSLAM), Redback SmartEdge Multi-Service Edge Routers (MSER), and all Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) configurations. • Responsible for general network administration such as traffic routing and network security.

• Worked directly under the creator of the Linux based PBX system known as Asterisk [Mark Spencer].• Tasks included software development related projects (mostly in the C programming language) including; development contributions and maintenance of the Asterisk PBX opensource project.• Provided onsite and telephone support to customers/clients for Linux and Asterisk administration related issues.• Other notable projects include an independent autonomous client for voice communications being tunneled over UDP based protocols and using Glade to develop a GUI for same, Linux drivers and driver control interfaces for Conexant, Inc.
