My professional career has spanned over twenty years, working in both the public and private sector. Prior to my current position, I worked as a tax accounting supervisor at a regional public accounting firm, as well as a budget manager for a county elected official.I have extensive experience in taxation, accounting, auditing, financial statement preparation, and local government budget preparation and management. My experience also includes standing up a finance and administration department in a new organization, implementation of a new accounting software system, strategic planning, treasury functions including the issuance and refunding of municipal bonds, and labor relations matters.

  As part of the VRFA executive team, I oversee our finance, human resources, information technology, and risk management functions, with managers in each of those divisions reporting to me. My day-to-day responsibilities include preparation and oversight of a $25M general fund budget, federal and state tax issues, as well as financial statement preparation. In addition, I have participated in the negotiation of multiple union contracts, serving in both advisory and lead roles on our bargaining team.
