Commissioned US Army Reserves. The military afforded me the opportunity to build leadership, character, and interpersonal skills. I began as a platoon leader, was selected for Company Command, and finally as Battalion Operations Officer. Several staff positions provided depth to my career as I learned the different core management functions which include.

• Directly supervised a staff of 24 personnel which operational orders for the installation, operation, and maintenance of digital networks that served over 70,000 square miles of combat theater communications.
• Coordinated all pre-deployment, mobilization, specialty and commercialization training at Ft. Hood, Texas.
• Supervised deployment of the unit’s $120 million tactical equipment and 420 personnel to Iraq.
• Project Manager for a $10 million commercial communications consolidation project in-theater.
• Directed a working group of communication stakeholders to consolidate assets to meet the General’s guidance.

• Designed and developed exclusive software solutions for the native Scientific-Atlanta Resident Application.
• Continuously improved product features including adding parental controls.
• Architected, developed and deployed Windows application to allow service providers the ability to do factory reset on remote cable set-top boxes.
• Created an on-boarding course to shorten the learning curve for new-hires in our department. Delivered 7 cycles of this course.

Designed, developed, and deployed a stand-alone Windows (all versions) application connecting to a Humminbird Fish Finder consumer product units to allow users to download GPS and waypoint data to their PC, manipulate and store it, then upload back to their device. Coordinated with marketing directly to design a simple User Interface, wrote the User.

• Designed and developed software solutions for various specialty projects, products, and customers at a software consulting firm. Learned additional programming languages and new tools for specific projects.
• Base Station Windows application to support a handheld GPS device used for golfing. The App maintained all of the coordinates of the golf course, programmed the hand-held device, and communicated with the point-of-sale.
• Wrote ISDN Layer 4 interface for a hand-held ISDN-BRI tester. Integrated a Layer 2 and 3 third party software stack to shorten development time.
• Windows application that managed the download of data in the out-of-band data channel in a Motorola head-end and cable set-top box environment

Designed and developed military radar simulation software for the E2C Hawkeye training station. Implemented on a highly parallel system of transputer compute processors (a very early large scale serverless design).
