Plan, develop and advance energy related projects supporting a key client in the Rocky Mountain region.

Providing technical support and leadership to all LSB manufacturing facilities ensuring industry leading execution of engineering efforts and capital projects as well as consistent execution strategy across all manufacturing facilities. Utilizing my experience to provide key technical oversight and expertise in the execution of projects and engineering to drive the attainment of key operational on-stream and production goals.

Played a key role serving as a Senior Technical Consultant delivering wide-ranging contract project management services primarily supporting the completion and start-up of a Southern U.S. wood pellet production facility.

Directed the engineering team in the development of client and company technology packages, leading projects and supporting operating facilities while providing senior technical oversight for all contract engineering services. This included overseeing a team comprised of as many as 10 engineers and managers responsible for completing scope and feasibility level studies for the development of internal/external projects for operating plant optimizations and grassroots production facilities development. Served as a functional Project Engineer/Manager for the successful completion of the projects from inception through construction and startup on time and on budget. Projects covered the areas of technology deployment, brownfield installations, operating facility capital and maintenance and power generation. Managed all aspects of the technical development including leading engineering supervision of commercial process design package development for all Rentech technologies and delivering process packages (process flowsheets, heat and mass balances simulations, P&IDs, utility balances, equipment drawings, unit and equipment specifications and utility and emissions estimates). Additionally I led the acquisition of team personnel and managed staff accountability. Recipient of the “Rentech Award for Integrity”.

Facilitated the development and advancement of the engineering team, including defining roles and responsibilities and leading in staff selection while leading the development of sub-contract project work. This resulted in a promotion to Director of Engineering. Managed engineering staff completing front-end engineering for the conversion of a NG-based nitrogen fertilizer complex to coal gasification and adding FT liquids production. In executing the studies, I generated technical exhibits associated with contract development and served as a technical liaison to the legal team. In addition to projects I completed technical due diligence for the acquisition of an existing nitrogen fertilizer production facility that produced ammonia, urea, nitric acid and UAN.

Completed detailed engineering reviews on the conversion of old syngas-based production facilities to manufacture synthetic fuels through the use of proprietary technology including developing the flowsheets and project designs for the conversion of existing methanol and ammonia plants to Fischer-Tropsch liquids facilities, including developing the order of magnitude cost estimates. Simultaneously created accurate plant capital and operating cost estimates based on Aspen process estimator or similar estimates.
