Tackling Global Health inequity through biotechnology innovation There is currently staggering inequity in access to surgery and anesthesia around the world. The Lancet Commission on Global Surgery estimated that 5 billion people lack access to safe, affordable surgical and anesthesia care. An additional 143 million surgeries are needed each year to save lives and prevent disability. Current constraints are causing 18.6 million preventable deaths per year. New, safer drugs may allow for disruptive change in how and where anesthesia is delivered, improving clinical outcomes and expanding access with existing resources. Expanesthetics is working to develop just such drugs — new inhaled anesthetics with the potential to unlock a paradigm shift in the practice of general anesthesia. This could both improve anesthesia in high-income countries like the U.S. as well as increase access for billions in low-income countries around the world.In addition to its world-leading technology, Expanesthetics has assembled a team that includes globally recognized experts in anesthetic drug development and clinical practice as well as a Board of Directors with experience running multibillion-dollar, global-scale organizations. Business for Poverty Relief Alliance was a forum for Australian business to confront global poverty and its causes. The group of companies involved in the alliance was facilitated by the CEOs of World Vision, ANZ, Visy Industries, Grey Global Group, IAG and Pfizer Australia. The forum led to the successful launch of Business for Development with start-up grant funding support from the Australian Government aid agency AusAID who granted over $1M.

Established in 1962, Anthony Marquet Ltd (trading as Marquet Trading Limited) was a New Zealand-owned company with diversified trading activities focused on adding value to all those primary products the company or its associated companies export.With a history going back some 40 years, this Company started as a wool exporter, joining an illustrious group in this field. The Company became one of the larger privately owned exporters of New Zealand agricultural products.
