Mark is an Associate bridge engineer within Ramboll’s Rail Infrastructure team. He has over 16 years’ working experience across multiple industries and specialises in leading and managing more complex projects.Key skills include:i. Design leadership of collaborative multi-disciplinary teams with the ability to coordinate engineering input and recognise key aspects of the design process, specialising in the delivery of bridge projects with multiple, highly complex constraints, stakeholders and statutory authorities. ii. Project management with a practical view of project constraints and stakeholder requirements to effectively balance the delivery of project benefits, whilst recognising their implications on project cost, programme and risk. iii. Detailed understanding of the characteristics and behaviour of most forms of bridges supporting highways, railways, pedestrians and cyclists, whilst specialising in constructability and installation of heavy civil structures including launching, lifting and SPMT modelling.iv. In depth experience of finite element analysis, in both linear and non-linear analysis, and parametric design (particularly LUSAS, STAAD, SESAM, Midas, Sofistik, Rhino, Grasshopper). v. Experienced in steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry from concept and feasibility to detailed design, using EC, AISC, API, BS, DMRB, SIA, DIN and AASHTO codes.vi. Computer programming to improve efficiency of tasks such as automating pre and post-processing of complex structural analysis and writing and developing in-house software. (VBA, LPI, Visual Studio)vii. Site experience in UK, Switzerland and Middle East including: site supervision; workshop and fabrication inspections; bridge launch supervision; health and safety auditing; principal inspections and quality management supervision.viii. Supervising civil engineer and delegated engineer for the Institute of Civil Engineers, since 2012.
