Mark Irvine is a Technical Director in ERM’s Environmental Planning and Development team in Edinburgh. Mark has 36 years consultancy experience, specialising in Environmental Impact Assessment and environmental management. He has project managed numerous desk- and field-based projects covering physical, biological and chemical aspects of environmental assessment. Mark has wide experience in managing large and complex projects (fee value ranging from £0.5 to £1.5 million), and working with a wide range of specialists from within ERM and sub-contracted companies. In addition, Mark is experienced in stakeholder consultation, workshop facilitation and public communication. Mark has worked primarily on projects in the oil and gas, water, ports and harbours, marine dredging and disposal and offshore windpower industries. Marine projects have included offshore and coastal seabed surveys, habitat mapping and ground truthing, fisheries studies, intertidal surveys, and water quality monitoring. More recently Mark has been working on oil and gas exploration and development projects in Ghana, Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda.Mark’s international experience includes working in: Abu Dhabi, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Brunei, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Libya, Mauritania, Nepal, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia (Sakhalin Island), Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uganda.
