I was appointed as an Associate Professor of Business History at the David Eccles School of Business (Department of Management) at the University of Utah in July 2019. Previously, I was a visiting scholar at the Center for European Studies, Harvard University September 2018-July 2019) and before that, I worked for 8 years in the School of History at Wuhan University, China. In May 2024 I was promoted to Professor at the David Eccles Business School.I graduated from the universities of Cardiff, Oxford and London. My PhD was funded by an Arts and Humanities Collaborative Doctoral Award in British Postal History. It examined the role of women workers in the General Post Office from 1939-1945. I was supervised by Professor Pat Thane and Dr. Adrian Steel. I have received funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the Political Studies Association, the Royal Historical Society and the Chinese Ministry of Education. Previously, I worked as an Associate Lecturer whilst studying for my PhD, teaching two courses at Cardiff University, namely British Politics (2nd year 30 credit module) and a 20 credit final year module on Wales, Devolution and Multi-Level Governance in the UK. I also contributed to the MA in Contemporary British History at the Institute of Historical Research. I have served on numerous committees, including the Institute of Historical Research Advisory Council (2008-2009), and was convenor of the Lifecycles and Lifestyles strand of the Social History Society from 2008-2010.
