The project was initially designed to increase the competitiveness of industry within the North East of England and has been recognised both nationally and internationally as an exemplar. A strategic model was initially developed for the business which allowed it to grow, outstripping its targets to a degree not imagined prior to the start of the project. This strategic outlook coupled with a sound understanding of operational procedures has laid the foundations for long term commercial success. Clients have included hundreds of companies who needed help to identify problems and then plan solutions. The sort of projects undertaken have varied enormously and have involved staff from every discipline within the organisation. The projects completed cover the entire academic portfolio and in many cases success has been achieved by using people from various disciplines and providing turnkey solutions for our partners.Skills acquired in the areas of sales, marketing, and administration as well as providing expert technical and managerial advice has allowed a holistic approach to providing advice, which invariably creates, an empathy with clients. This usually leads to long term relationships and long term prosperity.
Business Analyst
Working across Canada and North America on a sub contract basis. The usual consulting methodology involved going into a company with a rough outline of where the management thought the problems were. A process map was then produced which was the key tool used to identify areas of improvement. These recommendations were then developed into a proposed work schedule which was in turn used to lead the company through the implementation phases. The key to all of this was partnership while retaining the focus of cost reduction and productivity improvement with gains of 20/30% being typical.Customers included Nabisco, Xerox, the Canadian Treasury Board and Rogers AT&T with each initial analysis leading to follow up work. Projects were also undertaken in the manufacturing industry with impressive returns on investment being achieved. In one instance it was possible after a four week analysis to identify savings in the region of $1M per annum.
